Employee Type and Subtype: An employee type is defined by the nature of employment or work. Employee types and their subtypes are generally classified according to how the business is organized in an organization. Some of these types include permanent full-time, permanent part-time, outsourcing, fixed-term or contract, consultant, interns, trainees, freelancers, etc.
The administrator must define employee type before creating any user, be it an internal or external. In the administration section, administrator can classify employee types and their subtypes for internal, external and both (both internal and external) users. The application also allows to set the range of users for these types in such a way that each range should follow a chronological order for setting number of users.
For example, if an employee type (say permanent full-time) is defined for 1-100 range for all internal users, the next employee type (say contract) should start at 101. The sequence must be coordinated between internal and external range for ‘Both’ employee type. You cannot disturb a sequence in between the middle. There is no such procedure of sequence for defining the range for employee subtype.
You can add employee types for internal, external or both users in your organization, if you are authorized to access the Employee Type on the ADMINISTRATION tab.
